a thankful heartI see the daily posts on Facebook, 40 Days of Thankfulness, but I just don’t quite have the discipline to remember to do that every day. Oh, there are many things I am thankful for on a daily basis… I just don’t think to tell my friends on Facebook about it every day. Instead… I thought I’d take a little time today to make the list of 40 things and get it all over in one post. This list is in no particular order… just how they randomly pop in my head.

I am thankful for…

  1. My faith… though sometimes it is a fight to keep it, I am very thankful that I serve a loving and forgiving God.
  2. My daughter. She’s amazing. She keeps me grounded, gives me purpose, and keeps me very busy!
  3. My son. While he was a great challenge most of the time, he taught me how to be strong and make hard decisions.
  4. My friends, who have let me cry on their shoulders, encouraged me through tough times, and celebrate my wins! I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support and love.
  5. My business. It allows me to do what I love most of the time and provides immense flexibility.
  6. Heroes on the Water… and other veteran service organizations who take care of those who made great sacrifices to protect our freedoms.
  7. Freedom… because without it the first five things on my list (and probably everything else that follows) wouldn’t even be possible!
  8. Our veterans and those serving our country defending our freedom.
  9. My car. I love my convertible.
  10. Texas. I love living here.
  11. having known love. And heartache.
  12. Being content that I know neither love nor heartache at the moment.
  13. Social Media. It has reconnected me to long lost friends, has turned acquaintances into dear friends, and has birthed many new friendships.
  14. Long summer days.
  15. Stand Up Paddleboarding (no surprise).
  16. DFW Surf. It made my summer of SUP possible.
  17. An awesome hairdresser (who doesn’t give me too much crap for only coming in twice a year to have dead ends trimmed)!
  18. Pole Dancing. I credit it for starting my journey to be strong: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  19. TRX. The only real “workout” that I enjoy.
  20. Mojitos
  21. And Starbucks coffee.
  22. My keurig. Hey, I could finish the list with coffee!!
  23. Essential Oils
  24. and and other home remedies and alternatives to medicine.
  25. Breathtaking sunsets.
  26. Blue skies with white puffy clouds.
  27. My patio, which often serves as my office. I love working outside (as long as the dogs aren’t barking!)
  28. Those occasions when I have the opportunity and means to bless others.
  29. Close parking places on cold days. (including my garage!)
  30. DVR. I don’t watch much TV, but I’m glad I don’t have to watch commercials when I do!
  31. Movies on Demand. Because those rare times I’m in the mood to watch movie, the last thing I feel like doing is leaving the house.
  32. My girlfriends husbands… who help me out when needed. Sometimes you just need a guy to do things. Like drill stuff into the walls or string a weed eater.
  33. Good neighbors. I haven’t always had good neighbors, so I can definitely appreciate that I have good ones now!
  34. Technology. Specifically services like dropbox and lastpass that make my life easier.
  35. Loud music… makes driving more fun and keeps me in a good mood!
  36. Siri. Occasionally she comes in really handy! Her most useful feature is that she knows all the sports schedules!
  37. Coffee!
  38. Online shopping.
  39. Waze. It’s saved me a few times… both time and money!
  40. Lifeproof… because without it, I wouldn’t have a phone!
