“The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
There is something about sunsets that I find mesmerizing. As the sun nears the horizon and the sky begins to turn colors, my eyes are fixated on the sun. Sun-gazing is supposed to be good for us, right? Tho sometimes I am truly surprised my vision is still as good as it is as much as I stare directly at the sun.
This is meditation for me. My thoughts are almost non-existent as I take in the beauty of the sun, the sky, and on some summer days, the movement of the water.
If you’ve never paddled at sunset, you are missing out on life. Do it. Just once. I have a feeling you might also find it life-changing. Even if you only ever do it just the once. 😉
